History
Spectronic Services was established in 1971 by Eric and Jean Brereton as an instrument servicing company. The business was initially conducted from their home in Garforth, a town in Leeds, Yorkshire.
The firm grew fast as the scientific industry recognised the value and quality of our services; by the 1990s we were sought out by many major instrument manufacturers to service and sell equipment, including CamSpec of Cambridge. Spectronic Services changed its name to Spectronic Analytical Instruments, to reflect the booming success in sales.
In 2009, Spectronic Analytical Instruments purchased the CamSpec company and began marketing the popular spectrophotometer range as our own, merging the companies in 2010 and becoming Spectronic CamSpec Ltd.
In 2015, Spectronic CamSpec reviewed their distribution network and planned to expand the company globally.
The ACHEMA trade show exhibition in 2018 played a large part in the expansion, allowing Spectronic CamSpec to connect with new distributors and industry contacts.
Spectronic CamSpec plans to grow further in the coming years, continually improving the organisation and solidifying relationships with our customers, partners and distributors.
