M550 Used For COVID-19 Vaccination Research

Spectronic CamSpec is proud to announce that a CamSpec M550 spectrophotometer is being employed at the Clinical Bio Manufacturing Facility, Jenner Institute, Oxford University for research into the COVID-19 vaccination.

Named after vaccine inventor Edward Jenner, the Jenner Institute brings together investigators who are designing and developing numerous vaccines to generate an exceptional breadth of scientific know-how.

The CamSpec M550s are highly advanced instruments designed for research and routine use.  They can measure in wavelengths across the UV and visible portions of the electromagnetic spectrum.  CamSpec M550s are double beam systems with parallel and reference beams for high levels of accuracy.

At the Jenner Institute, Spectronic CamSpec’s own brand CamSpec M550 spectrophotometer is being used in the quality control laboratory for determining adenoviral particle concentration in the vaccines produced at the clinical biomanufacturing facility, including the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccination.

Spectronic CamSpec looks forward to supporting the Jenner investigators use the instruments and send our thanks and very best wishes to all the keyworkers risking their lives in the national effort against the COVID-19 pandemic.
